The Holidays In LA

Tempting as it may be - this is NOT about winter in New Orleans (LA).

This is "winter" in Los Angeles.
For those of you unfamiliar with the concept, let me catch you up on things. Early November - People still in shirtsleeves and shorts, getting a tan... Trick or Treaters picking outfits based on their breathability - Don't want to overheat while you're out pillaging the neighborhood for Smarties.

Couple weeks later - the "seasons" have changed. In LA that means two days of rain (which ellicit the obligatory remotes done by newspeople standing somewhere so we can see actual raindrops fall, covering "STORMWATCH 2007!!!!")

Then - basically, 60 degree weather, sunny,"crisp" and fall-ish. Perfect television weather. That way, when the rest of the country is watching the Rose Bowl, underneath 3 feet of snow, they decide - Screw This! We're moving to Beverly ! (Hills... that is....)

Before the angry posts come up about how Los Angeles misses out on the "change of seasons," the white xmas, the leaves turning, etc. Just remember - I don't have a battery blanket, I don't need an ice scraper, I don't have to salt my driveway or sidewalk, and I certainly don't have to check for snow closures...

Ahhh - the holiday spirit is upon me.

Brian - you spend your snow closures sitting on the internet, surfing for naked pictures of Christina Ricci... ok, not that much different than being in the office...

Dr J. - If they have to close the streets and plow every time that "snow" "falls".....
