More Proof That Oregonians Have Gone Insane

Now let me start with an explanation:
I know its nice and green there. I know that there's no sales tax. I understand that in some, misguided way, you might think that the Blazers really can come out of this slump they've been in (for what, 6 seasons now?)

But really - how do you explain this: http://www.bendshire.com/

For those of you too frightened to follow the link (as well you should be), let me share - The Shire is a "village community" where "the old world charm of The Shire begins at the entrance. Our rustic gate house stands notice to all who enter that The Shire is a place like no other and a community separate from it surroundings in every way."

Yes... this is a group in Oregon that are transforming their split level, ranch style homes with faux thatch, and a lot of cozy hobbit interiors.

So, the real question is - Is it the rain and clouds, or something in the water that breeds this kind of insanity? I suppose this is a challenge to all the star trek, convention going fans to build their own spaceships or something.... Now THAT would be impressive !

Light 'em if you've got 'em

Well,
To go along with the schwag - arriving today from the fine folks at Thompson Cigars - Syndicate branded cigars.
Its all part of the syndicate system.

The Syndicate just arrived back from a turn-around trip to Vegas. While there, we visited Craft-steak, at the MGM. They have a single-malt list that runs 3 pages long! Its glorious.
An 18 yr old Macallan called to me - and it arrives "on the rock." A lemon-sized single ice cube. Cool, but slow-melting so as not to water down the amber nectar. Glorious... just glorious.

Its Vegas - what's not to like?!
The tables were less-unkind than usual, so that's always a plus.
